DBRS Morningstar Publishes Final Methodologies for U.S. Residential Mortgage Originator and Servicer Rankings

DBRS Morningstar finalized its “U.S. Residential Mortgage Originator Rankings” and “U.S. Residential Mortgage Servicer Rankings” methodologies (together, the Methodologies) after the closure of a public request for comment (RFC) period that ended on August 24, 2020, per DBRS Morningstar’s press release “DBRS Morningstar Requests Comments on Proposed U.S. Residential Mortgage Originator and Servicer Ranking Methodologies,” dated July 23, 2020.

The Methodologies provide the ability for residential originators or servicers to request that DBRS Morningstar issue a public ranking on their company. The ranking process is voluntary and is not a prerequisite to having a U.S. residential mortgage-backed security rated by DBRS Morningstar.

No comments were received during the RFC period. All comments received during the RFC period are published to the DBRS Morningstar website, except in cases where confidentiality is requested by the respondent.
