DBRS Morningstar Takes Rating Actions on Nelnet Private Education Loan Trust 2016-A
Student LoansDBRS, Inc. (DBRS Morningstar) upgraded the Class B Notes issued by Nelnet Private Education Loan Trust 2016-A (Nelnet) to AA (sf) from A (sf). DBRS Morningstar also confirmed the rating of Nelnet’s Class A-1A Notes and the Class A-1B Notes at AAA (sf). For the rating that was upgraded, performance trends are such that credit enhancement levels are sufficient to cover DBRS Morningstar’s expected losses at their new respective rating levels. For the ratings that were confirmed, performance trends are such that credit enhancement levels are sufficient to cover DBRS Morningstar’s expected losses at their current respective rating levels.
The ratings are based on DBRS Morningstar’s review of the following analytical considerations:
--Transaction capital structure, proposed ratings and form and sufficiency of available credit enhancement.
--The transaction parties’ capabilities with regard to origination, underwriting and servicing.
--The credit quality of the collateral pool and historical performance.
