Ontario School Boards Financing Corporation

OSBFC is a not-for-profit, non-share capital corporation created to facilitate access to capital markets for Ontario school boards. OSBFC historically purchased debentures issued by one or more participating school boards and, in turn, sold undivided co-ownership interests in these debentures to investors in the form of OSBFC debt series. The last issue of OSBFC occurred in 2007, at which point subsequent school board borrowing needs were addressed by the Province and then through direct grant funding of capital projects.
