Founded in 1811, the Company mostly operates in nonlife, health, pension, and life & retirement services business. The Company has a co-operative ownership structure with the Achmea customer society (Vereniging Achmea) being the main shareholder with a 68% stake in the companys capital. The Dutch Bank, Rabobank, holds an additional 30% of the Company.
