Manitoba Hydro-Electric Board, The

The Manitoba Hydro-Electric Board (Manitoba Hydro), a wholly owned Crown corporation of the Province of Manitoba, is a vertically integrated electric utility that provides generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity to approximately 586,800 customers throughout Manitoba and natural gas service to approximately 285,000 customers via its subsidiary, Centra Gas Manitoba Inc. Manitoba Hydro also exports electricity to 26 electric utilities through its participation in four wholesale markets in Canada and in the midwestern United States.
